Eureka Woman Killed in Car Accident

A fatal car accident on U.S. 50, two miles west of Eureka, claimed the life of a 23-year-old Eureka woman, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.

The woman was traveling westbound at 3:15 a.m., on Thursday, when the 2004 Volkswagen Jetta she was driving veered out of the travel lane and onto a dirt shoulder off the side of the road, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The driver overcorrected to the left causing the vehicle to overturn, ejecting her. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. While being transported to the hospital for treatment, she died.
