Al Unser Jr. is facing a charge of driving under the influence after he left the scene of a car accident on a Nevada freeway.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Kevin Honea says Unser was arrested after he was identified as the driver of a car that sideswiped another on the Las Vegas Beltway on Thursday.

The other car involved crashed into a concrete center median while Unser's vehicle had little damage. The driver didn't report any injuries at the scene.

Honea says, Unser failed many field sobriety tests before he was taken into custody. Unser is being charged with driving under the influence, misdemeanor hit and run and failure to render aid in an accident along with failure to report an accident.

Unser's vehicle had little damage, but the other car crashed into a concrete center median.

Honea says the driver reported no injuries at the scene. Hesays Unser failed several field sobriety tests before being taken into custody.
