Recently, our firm achieved the largest personal injury verdict in the history of the state ($134M) against drug-maker Wyeth for three women who proved to a jury that their breast cancer was caused by use of Wyeth's menopause medication, Prempro. In addition to continuing our advocacy against Wyeth on behalf of Prempro breast cancer survivors, we're now turning our attention to persons diagnosed with Tardive Dyskinesia, Tardive Dystonia and Akathasia as a result of their use of Wyeth's drug Reglan. (Reglan is commonly prescribed to relieve GERD/heartburn.) Although Reglan is the brand name, most of the time patient's prescriptions are filled using generic drugs. The generic name for Reglan is Metoclopramide. Metoclopramide is sold by several U.S. and Global generic drug manufacturers. We have decided to focus on this drug because many Nevada residents (particularly Las Vegans) are retirees. Our research has shown that Reglan and/or metoclopramide is widely prescribed to retirees. Yet, retirees, especially elderly diabetic females, are particularly at risk when they ingest this drug. Tardive Dyskinesia, Tardive Dystonia and Akathasia are caused by Reglan/metoclopramide, can be devastating and in, most cases, is permanent.
