Our last blog entry discussed a severe neurological condition a person can get when ingesting Reglan (or its generic metoclopramide). If you read our other blog entries, you know this condition is Tardive Dyskinesia, Tardive Dystonia or Akathasia. We told you in our last blog that Las Vegans, particularly retirees, are at risk from the side effects of Reglan and/or metoclopramide. Reglan is only approved by the FDA for 6-12 weeks. But, the drug companies, to make more profits and without concern for the safety of American consumers, have marketed and told everyone that Reglan and or metoclopramide is safe to use for months and years. This is not the case. If you know a friend or loved one that has been taking Reglan and/or metoclopramdie for more than 6-12 weeks, they may be at risk.
